What does an ulcer feel like?

The symptoms of ulcers are different in different people. Some people don’t even realize that they have an ulcer but some feel strong pain or a burning feeling in their stomach.

Indigestion, heartburn, dyspepsia and hunger pangs are some of the common signs for ulcer.

An example of difference of ulcer in patients is that some ulcer patients find eating even more painfull but some feel ulcers settling while eating and find it little comforting.

A stomach ache does not mean that the person is suffering from ulcer, mostly people have stomach ache but no ulcers.

Ulcers can be potentially dangerous and an Ulcer’s cautions are:

  • difficulty swallowing or regurgitation
  • constant sickness and vomiting
  • vomiting blood or vomit with the appearance of coffee grounds
  • black or tar-like stools
  • unintentional weight loss
  • Sudden, brutal and unbearable abdominal pains
